Two new senior hires to support a structured development strategy
IVO Capital Partners continues to strengthen its management teams with the addition of Jérémy Landau and Boris Fisher, two experienced professionals who will serve as Senior Analyst and Portfolio Manager, respectively, within the collective investment team. The firm, which operates in a broad investment universe of 1,700 issuers across 40 countries, implements a balanced approach combining conviction-based management with necessary diversification. The recruitment of these talents is part of a development strategy aimed at expanding its product range and the number of companies and countries it covers. IVO Capital Partners is particularly committed to combining young talent with seasoned professionals, thereby consolidating its ability to deliver sustainable performance and organizational continuity.
Jérémy Landau worked for over 20 years in New York, including 13 years in hedge funds (LibertyView Capital Management, a subsidiary of Neuberger Berman, and Millennium) as an analyst, trader, and portfolio manager, where he was responsible for sourcing, researching, and managing corporate credit investments. He possesses extensive expertise in the fundamental analysis of international high-yield issuers, with specific competence in the most complex segments of the US market. A graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (finance and marketing), he began his career at Lehman Brothers as a mergers and acquisitions analyst.
Boris Fisher brings 20 years of experience in the high-yield credit sector. He spent 12 years at SphereInvest as manager of an award-winning global high-yield fund, notably receiving a 5-star Morningstar rating and ranking first in its category over 10 years from CityWire. Previously, he worked in London as an emerging market credit analyst at Bluebay Asset Management and Barclays Capital. A graduate of ESSEC Business School, Boris holds the CFA charter.
“We are delighted to welcome Boris Fisher and Jérémy Landau, whose contributions to the industry are already widely recognized. Following the arrival of Agnese Melbarde and Emma Otmani, it is further recognition to see such highly skilled professionals in our industry join our entrepreneurial venture. At IVO, we firmly believe in the importance of continuing to develop young talent while integrating experienced professionals. This model allows us to benefit from diversified and high-quality management, while strengthening our disciplinary approach, our ability to generate long-term performance, and our ability to improve risk management, in order to offer high-performing investment solutions tailored to the challenges of emerging markets.” Sidney Oury, Managing Director of IVO Capital Partners
Macroeconomic outlook for late 2024 and early 2025 offers opportunities in the emerging corporate market.
Experts in the emerging market bond universe, the management team at IVO Capital Partners, at the company’s traditional semi-annual luncheon, presented the 2024 macroeconomic outlook, highlighting opportunities in the bond market and discussing those emerging in early 2025. They emphasized the advantages of exposure to the US yield curve; scenarios of falling or stabilizing rates are inherently favorable to holders of emerging market corporate debt, which is typically low-leverage and offers high carry. Simultaneously, the renewed and sustained dynamism of the primary market—quite different from European primary markets, which face competition from private debt funds—is generating diversification opportunities and allowing for greater depth in bond portfolios. Finally, despite global uncertainties, IVO experts have noted a recovery in investment in several emerging countries, supported by particularly resilient microeconomic dynamics, enabling companies across various sectors to maintain their growth. This situation offers opportunities to adjust portfolios and capitalize on an attractive risk/return profile, consistent with IVO Capital Partners’ investment principles for over a decade.
“Over the first three quarters, we have delivered strong performance across our entire product range, both in relative and absolute terms. This performance was achieved without taking excessive risks, which makes it all the more remarkable. We chose to invest in recruitment to strengthen our structure, improve our coverage, and thus enhance our historical investment strategy. The complexity of the macroeconomic environment and the numerous elections taking place this year have given significant value to microeconomic analysis, coverage, and experience. The strong fundraising in recent months demonstrates the renewed confidence of our investors.” – Michael Israel, President and Managing Director of IVO Capital Partners
